LEDARS Water Related Initiatives

LEDARS has been started its work in the extreme southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 2003. As the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh is most vulnerable part of the country due to sea level raise and global climate change. People use pond water for drinking from the ancient time of the human settlement as the ground water is merely saline. But due to sea level rise and salinity intrusion in land three decades the drinking water sources were getting contaminated saline water. The water sources rapidly damage for saline water shrimp firm. Poor people who are living here facing serious water scarcity and have to walk 4/5 KM to collect drinking water. Considering the situation LEDRAS former GUS took initiatives to support people. LEDARS has been engage in the following initiatives.
