Upazila nutrition committee had formed in the year of 2018 in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district, but it was not functional. Government had declared the 2nd nutrition policy of Bangladesh and it has a clear operational guideline in this policy. The civil society network, CSA for SUN is working on nutrition issue. As member organization of that alliance, LEDARS help to reactivate the upazila nutrition committee. LEDARS help to organize a meeting of that committee and a yearly plan has been developed. Upazila health department organize the coordination meeting at 30 December, 2020 at Upazila auditorium of Shyamnagar Upazila. Md. Abdul Hie Seddique, Assistant Commissioner, land, Shyamnagar presides over the meeting on behalf of Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Shyamnagar. Representatives from different government offices, Chairman and members of different Union Parishad, Journalist, teachers and NGO representatives participate in the meeting. At the starting of the meeting Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer delivers the speech on the practical situation of Shyamnagar. He also said that according to the Second National Nutrition Action Plan (2016-2025), women, children and adolescents in Bangladesh will be able to lead a healthy and productive life by getting the desired nutrition. The major role of the policy is to improve the nutritional status of deprived people and to achieve the national and international nutrition target and goal.
