The Climate Advocacy Forum of Assasuni organized Quarterly Coordination Meeting on 19 June 2022 with the support of LEDARS. The meeting was held in at the LEDARS Assasuni Branch office at 10: 30 am. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Md. Abdul Hannan, the president of the forum. Forum Treasurer Minoti Rani Sarkar, Publicity Secretary Banomali Das, Member Bimal Krishna Mondal, Assasuni Women’s College Assistant Professor Ratan Adhikari and other members of the forum delivered their short speeches in the meeting.
Speakers at the meeting said, “the south-west coastal area of Bangladesh is very vulnerable due to climate change. Natural disasters are increasing at an alarming rate. We have to work together to solve the crisis created on the coast due to the impact of climate change. If we all work together, we can overcome the problem.”
Everyone expressed their views on what to do about the coastal crisis due to the impact of climate change in the meeting. A plan of action was made in the forum for the next three months. The forum hopes that the plan will play an important role in protecting the rights of the coastal people.
